It all started on a Sunday morning in 2017.

Tosin had come to visit her cousins, who attended the same church as I did. Her cousins and I served together in the Audio-Visual Department, and on that day, she happened to walk into the department. That was the very first time I saw her. I immediately noticed her and tried to say hello, but she wouldn’t even look my way. Undeterred, I kept stealing glances at her and even asked her cousin about her. Let’s just say my attempts at gathering information were quickly shut down!

Still, something about her stayed with me. I felt a spark, but things didn’t go the way I imagined they would. Before long, she was gone, and I wouldn’t see her again for many years.

Then came January 2025. After all those years, our paths crossed again. Looking back now, it’s amazing to think that a simple five-minute phone conversation would become the beginning of forever. There were a few starts and stops between January and June, but somehow, everything kept bringing us back to each other. By June, I finally found the courage to tell her how I truly felt. What happened next felt like magic.

For the first time in my life, I experienced a love that felt effortless. With Tosin, I didn’t have to fight for it, force it, or figure it out. It felt natural. It felt peaceful. It felt right.

It was as though God had been writing our story all along and simply chose the perfect moment for us to read it.

As the days passed, friendship blossomed into love, and love quickly became one of the greatest blessings of my life. We laughed together, prayed together, shared dreams together, and built something beautiful rooted in faith, friendship, trust, and intentionality.

The more time we spent together, the more certain I became that she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Skipping a few chapters—not because they aren’t beautiful, but because some memories are too special to share with everyone 😉—on the 4th of February 2026, I got down on one knee and asked the easiest question of my life:

“Will you marry me?”

She said yes.

And just like that, another beautiful chapter began.

Today, with grateful hearts and great excitement, we look forward to standing before God, our families, and our friends as we begin forever together on the 22nd of August 2026.

Looking back, what started as a brief encounter in church became a love story neither of us saw coming. Looking forward, I know this is only the beginning of a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, and God’s faithfulness.

And if I had to do it all over again, in this life and every other one, I would still find her.
